A few brown cows from a local field and I just had to use them for this series - the top eight paintings. They are Herefords but living in Lancashire. I asked the farmer if I could photograph them and spent a muddy half hour in their field. However it was their first inquisitive glances that gave me the most references for this series of paintings.
