In 2002 this work won a first prize in a national exhibition organised by The Artist Magazine and also was the first prize winner at The Wirral First National Exhibition in Liverpool, England
Very much after the style of Edward Atkinson Hornel, one of the "Glasgow Boys", who was active during the late 19th and first third of the 20th Century. The cows in the background are reminiscent of his painting "Summer" (1891) which is in the Walker Gallery, Liverpool.

The cows in the foreground? Well they're some of my 'favourites', arranged together for the composition!
